Barzan: the ancient theater of Fâ lights up with “The New Kingdom”

The Joint Syndicate for the Development of the Barzan Site is presenting a historic sound and light show on August 11 and 12

The Joint Syndicate for the Development of the Barzan Site is putting the ancient theatre of Fâ in the spotlight with “The New Kingdom”, a historical sound and light show which will take place over two evenings, Monday 11 and Tuesday 12 August at 9:45 p.m.

The Ancient Theatre of Fâ is a place steeped in history where, 2,000 years ago, comedies, tragedies, shows took place... As a reminder of its past, it offers, over two exceptional evenings, a historical spectacle full of color, sound and light.

Return to the Empire

"The New Kingdom" takes viewers back to the 1st century AD, when the Roman Empire was establishing its dominance over all of Gaul. The plot takes place in Novioregum (Barzan), an important port supplying the trade routes of Mediolanum (present-day Saintes), at a time when the apparent order prevailing in the cities is being shaken. Governor Caius is tasked with restoring Rome's authority, but plots are emerging. His daughter, Estelle, refuses to submit to the marriage her father wants to impose on her.

Practical: "The New Kingdom" , as part of the Charente-Maritime Sites en scène program. Advance ticket prices (until August 9): 10 euros for adults, 6 euros for children under 12, and free for children under six. No pets allowed, parking nearby, toilets on site, no smoking inside the theater, you can bring a pillow and blanket.
